Do I need any experience to start training at Torres Jiu Jitsu?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Most of our members started with zero martial arts experience. Our Essentials and All Levels classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are, our coaches will guide you through every technique step by step. All you need to bring is a willingness to learn.

What should I expect at my first visit?

You'll be welcomed by our team, given a tour of the academy, and sit down with a coach to talk about your goals. From there, you'll get a firsthand look at what training here is really like. No pressure, no commitment, just a chance to see if Torres Jiu Jitsu is the right fit for you.

What should I wear and bring to my first class?

Accepted Answer

For your intro session, wear comfortable athletic clothing, shorts or joggers and a t-shirt work great. Bring a water bottle and a small towel. If you continue training in Gi classes, we'll help you get set up with a Gi. No special equipment is needed to get started.

Is Jiu Jitsu a good workout for getting in shape?

Absolutely. Jiu Jitsu is a full-body workout that builds strength, endurance, flexibility, and mental toughness, all while learning a real skill. Many of our members see major improvements in their fitness within the first few weeks of consistent training.

Where are you located and is there parking?

We're located at 4033 Kreinhop Rd, Suite 101 in Spring, TX 77388, right in the Spring/Klein area of north Houston. Free parking is available on-site directly in front of our academy.

What ages do your kids programs start at?

Accepted Answer

Our Little Champs program starts at age 4, and our Junior Champs program is for kids ages 7-13. Both programs focus on building discipline, confidence, focus, and real Jiu Jitsu skills in a structured, positive environment. It's one of the best activities you can put your child in.
